What can I save?
Websites, SaaS apps, GitHub repositories, articles, and social post URLs. For public Instagram carousels, CaptureMem reads up to 20 slide images and saves each clearly identified, verified GitHub repository as its own link, with its source post and slide. Private or restricted posts and unclear text may be unavailable. Repository licenses appear only for repositories.
What happens when I save the same link twice?
CaptureMem shows “Already saved” and keeps your existing notes, tags, and collections. Common tracking parameters and GitHub URL variants are normalized; some website URL variants can remain separate. Refresh a saved link when you want updated source information.
How do I share from my phone or browser?
The setup guide walks you through one step at a time. On iPhone, install the CaptureMem Shortcut and use the share sheet. On desktop Chrome, install CaptureMem from the Chrome Web Store to save your current tab, pasted URLs, selected tab groups, or bookmark folders. On Android, copy a URL and paste it into CaptureMem.
Do I need ChatGPT or Claude?
No. Your CaptureMem library has collections, search, summaries, and notes. Connecting an assistant is optional and gives it read-only access through MCP after you approve. ChatGPT custom connections require a compatible account and workspace settings; assistant subscriptions are separate.
What if a link cannot be automatically filed?
The original link stays safe in your Inbox with a processing or filing explanation. You can retry, add context, or review a suggested collection. Your manual filing and notes take priority over automatic changes.
How do processing credits work?
The $20 monthly subscription includes unlimited saved links and 120 processing credits. Audio uses one credit per started minute. A short video uses up to five: one for speech and four for on-screen text. You confirm before processing; unsuccessful stages release their reserved credits. Monthly credits expire at renewal; $10 top-ups add 120 credits that carry forward.
Can I share my library?
Yes. Your library starts private. When you are ready, choose a custom public link and publish the folders you want people to see. Individual folders can stay private, even while the rest of your profile is public. Other signed-in members can star your public collection.
Is my library private?
Yes, until you publish it. Notes, your Inbox, favorites, archive, trash, processing records, and folders you exclude never appear on a public profile. Connected assistants can read your private library only after you authorize access, and connections can be revoked.
